Acquisition Enables Real-time Insurance Verification and Benefits Management
MPV is pleased to announce that it has acquired TeraHealth, a leading provider of insurance verification software and services designed to help physician groups improve eligibility processes and increase revenue.
With frequent changes in employer health plans and ever higher deductibles, patients are taking increased responsibility for their medical expenses. As a result, physician groups recognize the importance of verifying eligibility and benefits and determining patient fees at any point in the billing process to avoid costly billing errors and payment delays.
The acquisition of TeraHealth uniquely positions MPV to offer a comprehensive, integrated approach to improving revenue cycle efficiency – from insurance verification at the beginning of a patient encounter to ensure the correct plan is billed to monitoring reimbursement accuracy for all services rendered. TeraHealth’s automated insurance verification capability complements MPV’s existing suite of payor contract management solutions, helping physician groups reduce denials, increase time-of-service collections, monitor payor contract performance and improve cash flow.
TeraHealth’s corporate name will change to MPV and its operations will remain in Plymouth, Mass. John Donnelly, the company’s president and CEO, will join MPV as general manager of the eligibility product suite.
